There has been a lot of talk about 5G and it looks like this year is the launch year! The race is on to be the first and EE seem hopeful that they will pip others to the post in the summer with partner OnePlus. The first 6 cities to have 5G through EE are shown in green on the map.
Vodafone have trials running in 7 cities Birmingham. Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London and Manchester and have announced that they will be ready to launch in 2019 too.
02 are not planning to launch until 2020 and 3 have said that they plan to launch in 2019 but focusing on 5G as a broadband replacement. No locations have been announced yet. It looks like those in London, Cardiff, Belfast, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Manchester may be the first to benefit.
